Because portions of the township are located in the New Jersey Meadowlands, a number of radio stations have their transmitters and towers located in Lyndhurst. Lyndhurst, together with [[North Arlington, New Jersey|North Arlington]] and [[Rutherford, New Jersey|Rutherford]], was the site of the [[EnCap]] project, an effort to remediate landfills on the {{convert|785|acre|km2|adj=on}} site and construct homes and golf courses on top of the cleaned-up site.
