Newman played the antagonist in ''[[Problem Child 2]]'' (1991) and also appeared in 1993's ''[[Coneheads (film)|Coneheads]]'' (in which [[Michelle Burke]] played Connie Conehead, the character Newman originated on ''SNL'', while Newman appeared in a minor role as Connie's aunt Laarta). She appeared in episodes of ''[[Friends]]'', ''[[3rd Rock from the Sun]]'', ''[[7th Heaven (TV series)|7th Heaven]]'', and in the 1994 film ''[[The Flintstones (film)|The Flintstones]]''. She also started to focus on voice acting, on ''[[The Tick (1994 TV series)|The Tick]]'', ''[[Histeria!]]'', ''[[CatDog]]'', and ''[[Rugrats]]'' (in "All Growed Up", an episode which would form the basis of the spinoff ''[[All Grown Up!]]'', for which she also provided voice work).
