Höðr appears in the genealogies of ''[[Hversu Noregr byggðist]]'' ("How Norway was inhabited"). In this, he is the ruler of [[Hadeland|Haðaland]] and the father of [[Hothbrodd|Höddbroddr]] (instead of being Höddbroddr's son, as in the ''Gesta Danorum''). Höðr's parentage is not explicitly given in this text, but he may be the same as Haukr, the second legitimate son of [[Raum the Old]] by his wife Hilda, daughter of Gudrod the Old. This is because Raum the Old had four sons by Hilda and this statement is followed by four lineages springing from four men, who are otherwise the four sons of Raum and Hilda in the same order except that Höðr takes the place of Haukr.
