===Emergency medical services===
[[Emergency Medical Services]] for the town of Guilderland are provided by three separate medical entities. Guilderland EMS,<ref>{{cite web|title=Guilderland EMS|url=http://www.guilderlandpd.org/#!emergency-medical-services/c1kei}}</ref> which was a division of the Guilderland Police Department but now operates on their own, provide the [[Advanced Life Support]] (career paramedics) for the town as well as other surrounding areas. Western Turnpike Rescue Squad<ref>{{cite web|title=Western Turnpike Rescue Squad|url=http://www.wtrs.org}}</ref> served the local community from 1939 to 2018, before Guilderland EMS purchased an ambulance and assumed operations. Altamont Rescue Squad served the Village of Altamont from 1937 to 2023. During college semesters [[Basic Life Support]] care and transport for the University at Albany is provided by Five Quad,<ref>{{cite web|title=Five Quad Ambulance|url=http://fivequad.org/}}</ref> an all volunteer EMS agency consisting of University of Albany students and alumni.
