Second Division consisted of four ships of the 1904 ''Virginia'' class: {{USS|Georgia|BB-15|2}}, the division flagship, Captain Henry McCrea; {{USS|New Jersey|BB-16|2}}, Captain [[William Henry Hudson Southerland|William H. Bowyer]], ''Kearsarge'', Captain Hamilton Hutchins; and ''Kentucky'', Captain [[Walter C. Cowles]]. The fleet auxiliaries consisted of ''Culgoa'' (a storeship), Lieutenant Commander John B. Patton; ''Glacier'' (a storeship), Commander William S. Hogg; {{USS|Panther|1889|2}} (a repair ship), Commander Valentine S. Nelson; ''Yankton'' (a tender), Lieutenant Walter R.
