In 2021, as a guest on the [[Steve-O|''Steve-O's Wild Ride!'']] podcast, Muniz revealed that the mini-strokes were a misdiagnosis and he was instead suffering from [[Aura (symptom)|migraine auras]]. He also clarified that the story of his memory loss was largely misinterpreted by media sources.
