== Climate == Due to Fort Bragg's location on the shore of the Pacific Ocean, the city has very mild weather throughout the year compared to most inland places. Most of the rainfall occurs from November to April with some occasional drizzle or light showers during the summer. Fog and low overcast are common, especially during the night and early morning hours. The climate experienced in Fort Bragg is classified as warm-summer Mediterranean climate (Köppen: Csb). Although formally known as dry-summer subtropical, Fort Bragg has very cool summer temperatures for a subtropical climate type. Its Mediterranean classification is due to the dry summers with very little rainfall. Freezing temperatures occur on an average of 11.6 days annually. The coldest day on record was 39 F in 1972 and the coolest day of the year reached 44 F on average during the 1991–2020 normals. The warmest night of the year averages a moderate 58 F and no overnight low has ever been recorded above 66 F. Average annual precipitation is 43.16 in. The wettest "rain year" on record was from July 1997 to June 1998 with at least 79.13 in and the driest from July 1976 to June 1977 with 14.90 in. The maximum precipitation in one month was 27.02 in in January 1909. The maximum 24-hour rainfall was 4.72 in on February 6, 2015. Snow has only ever been recorded on three days, the largest recorded total being 3 in on December 6, 1913, the second being 2 in on January 6, 1907, and the third being 0.5 in on January 12, 1907. The extreme maritime effect of the Pacific Ocean is demonstrated by the fact that Fort Bragg has uniquely cool summers for cities on the 39th parallel north, both domestically and internationally. To illustrate the extremes of Fort Bragg, coastal climates with warmer summers than the city are found as far north as on the 66th latitude on the Bothnia Bay in between Sweden and Finland, a net latitudinal anomaly of 27 degrees. That is nearly one-third of the distance between the poles and the equator. In places some miles inland, consistently hotter summer temperatures are found, a phenomenon typical of the Californian coastline. {{Weather box |location = Fort Bragg, California, 1991–2020 normals, extremes 1895–present |single line = Yes |Jan record high F = 77 |Feb record high F = 80 |Mar record high F = 82 |Apr record high F = 80 |May record high F = 81 |Jun record high F = 84 |Jul record high F = 83 |Aug record high F = 83 |Sep record high F = 87 |Oct record high F = 91 |Nov record high F = 85 |Dec record high F = 81 |Jan avg record high F = 63.8 |Feb avg record high F = 65.2 |Mar avg record high F = 66.4 |Apr avg record high F = 69.2 |May avg record high F = 70.3 |Jun avg record high F = 73.3 |Jul avg record high F = 73.9 |Aug avg record high F = 74.7 |Sep avg record high F = 76.1 |Oct avg record high F = 76.7 |Nov avg record high F = 67.1 |Dec avg record high F = 60.9 |year avg record high F = |Jan high F = 51.6 |Feb high F = 53.8 |Mar high F = 55.0 |Apr high F = 57.2 |May high F = 60.1 |Jun high F = 63.0 |Jul high F = 65.0 |Aug high F = 65.2 |Sep high F = 64.7 |Oct high F = 61.5 |Nov high F = 55.9 |Dec high F = 51.5 |year high F = |Jan mean F = 45.9 |Feb mean F = 47.1 |Mar mean F = 48.0 |Apr mean F = 49.8 |May mean F = 52.6 |Jun mean F = 55.2 |Jul mean F = 57.0 |Aug mean F = 57.4 |Sep mean F = 56.7 |Oct mean F = 53.8 |Nov mean F = 49.3 |Dec mean F = 45.7 |year mean F = |Jan low F = 40.3 |Feb low F = 40.5 |Mar low F = 41.0 |Apr low F = 42.4 |May low F = 45.1 |Jun low F = 47.3 |Jul low F = 49.0 |Aug low F = 49.7 |Sep low F = 48.7 |Oct low F = 46.1 |Nov low F = 42.6 |Dec low F = 39.8 |year low F = |Jan avg record low F = 31.0 |Feb avg record low F = 31.8 |Mar avg record low F = 33.3 |Apr avg record low F = 34.6 |May avg record low F = 38.5 |Jun avg record low F = 41.7 |Jul avg record low F = 44.5 |Aug avg record low F = 44.7 |Sep avg record low F = 42.2 |Oct avg record low F = 38.1 |Nov avg record low F = 32.9 |Dec avg record low F = 30.8 |year avg record low F = 28.5 |Jan record low F = 24 |Feb record low F = 24 |Mar record low F = 28 |Apr record low F = 30 |May record low F = 29 |Jun record low F = 36 |Jul record low F = 38 |Aug record low F = 30 |Sep record low F = 34 |Oct record low F = 25 |Nov record low F = 26 |Dec record low F = 18 |precipitation colour = green |Jan precipitation inch = 7.66 |Feb precipitation inch = 7.27 |Mar precipitation inch = 6.43 |Apr precipitation inch = 3.60 |May precipitation inch = 1.57 |Jun precipitation inch = 0.74 |Jul precipitation inch = 0.07 |Aug precipitation inch = 0.10 |Sep precipitation inch = 0.25 |Oct precipitation inch = 2.26 |Nov precipitation inch = 4.55 |Dec precipitation inch = 8.66 |year precipitation inch = |unit precipitation days = 0.01 in |Jan precipitation days = 15.6 |Feb precipitation days = 13.8 |Mar precipitation days = 14.8 |Apr precipitation days = 11.0 |May precipitation days = 7.3 |Jun precipitation days = 3.2 |Jul precipitation days = 2.1 |Aug precipitation days = 2.7 |Sep precipitation days = 3.6 |Oct precipitation days = 6.7 |Nov precipitation days = 13.3 |Dec precipitation days = 16.7 |source 1 = NOAA |source 2 = National Weather Service }}
