Into the twentieth century, [[Anglo-Peruvian Amazon Rubber Co]] in [[Iquitos]] began to market rubber internationally. During the rubber boom the [[Putumayo Genocide]] was committed by Anglo-Peruvian Amazon Rubber Co.
