"Functional urban areas"<ref>{{Cite web|url=https://opendata.cbs.nl/statline/#/CBS/nl/dataset/70072ned/table|title=CBS Statline|website=opendata.cbs.nl}}</ref> are a type of [[urban area]]s with large populations where commuters from nearby areas work in the core area. There are several functional urban areas officially identified in the Netherlands.
