As of the census of 2010,<ref name="GR2">{{cite web|url=https://www.census.gov|publisher=[[United States Census Bureau]]|accessdate=May 11, 2016|title=U.S. Census website}}</ref> there were 1,653 people, 744 households, and 463 families residing in the Village. The population density was {{convert|1,522.9|PD/sqmi|PD/km2|sp=us|adj=off}}. There were 866 housing units at an average density of {{convert|760.6|/sqmi|/km2|sp=us|adj=off}}. The racial makeup of the village was 86.6% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 14.8% [[African American (U.S. Census)|African American]], 0.5% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], 0.4% [[Asian (U.S. Census)|Asian]], 0.1% from [[Race (United States Census)|other races]], and 1.27% from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 0.90% of the population.

There were 744 households, out of which 25.7% had children under the age of 18, 43.4% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 15.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 37.8% were non-families. 34.0% of all households were made up of individuals, and 16.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.22 and the average family size was 2.80.

In the village, the population was spread out, with 21.2% under the age of 18, 8.9% aged 18 to 24, 23.2% from 25 to 44, 22.6% from 45 to 64, and 24.0% 65 years of age or older. The median age was 42 years. For every 100 females, there were 84.5 males. For every 100 females aged 18 and over, there were 81.2 males.
