==Geography== [[File:Fall Ing, Wakefield (15946442051).jpg|thumb|River Calder]] Wakefield is {{convert|9|mi}} south-east of Leeds and {{convert|28|mi}} south-west of York on the eastern edge of the [[Pennines]] in the lower Calder Valley.
