The largest and newest of the two churches is the Immaculata Church, which is under the jurisdiction of the [[Society of Saint Pius X]] (SSPX), a [[Traditionalist Catholicism|traditionalist Catholic]] association that has a canonically irregular relationship with the [[Holy See]].<ref>{{Cite web |date=2013-06-08 |title=Mass Locator |url=https://fsspx.org/en/mass-locator |access-date=2022-12-16 |website=General House |language=en}}</ref> The Immaculata was [[Dedication of churches|consecrated]] in a ceremony on May 3, 2023 by Bishop [[Bernard Fellay]], as the final step of a plan written forty-five years prior to the dedication. The New Immaculata Church<ref>{{cite web |title=A New Immaculata Church |url=https://www.anewimmaculata.org/}}</ref> is one of the largest churches in the state with regular seating for 1,580<ref>{{cite web |title=Civium Architects |url=https://www.civiumarchitects.com/immaculata}}</ref> in order to accommodate the growing community. According to the 2020 census, the majority of St. Marys' inhabitants are Catholics affiliated with the SSPX; this has created tensions with some older residents who are not followers of the movement and who do not share the SSPX's [[Social conservatism in the United States|socially conservative values]].
