Mineta San Jose International Airport covers {{convert|1050|acre|ha}} at an elevation of {{convert|62|ft|m}}. It has two active [[runway]]s: 12L/30R and 12R/30L, each {{convert|11000|x|150|ft|m|0}} asphalt/concrete.<ref group=note>As of 2014, former runway 11/29 ({{convert|4599|x|100|ft|m|0}}) is closed indefinitely and is now a taxiway.</ref><ref name="FAA-5010" /><ref>{{cite web|url=https://www.skyvector.com/airport/SJC/Norman-Y-Mineta-San-Jose-International-Airport|title=SJC airport data at skyvector.com|website=skyvector.com}} FAA data effective April 17, 2025.</ref> The runway separation is less than ideal: 700 feet between centerlines. In the year ending February 28, 2018, the airport had 181,686 aircraft operations, average 498 per day: 66% airline, 13% [[air taxi]], 20% [[general aviation]] and <1% military. 133 aircraft were then based at the airport: 46% single-engine, 12% multi-engine, 39% jet and 3% [[helicopter]].<ref name="FAA-5010" /> From 1960 to 2010, [[San Jose State University]] operated a flight-simulator facility for its aviation program in buildings at the southeast corner of the airport. The university has since moved to the [[Reid–Hillview Airport]] about 5 miles southeast.
