Within the village's borders, there is one [[state school|public school]] district, the [[Port Chester-Rye Union Free School District]]. Established in 1884, it Westchester County's oldest school district.{{citation needed|date=August 2016}} Two schools in Port Chester are [[Port Chester Middle School|Port Chester Middle]] and [[Port Chester High School]].

The Westchester Fairfield Hebrew Academy (now [[Carmel Academy]]) opened in Port Chester in 1997, in rented space.
