The 944 S2 had the same rounded nose and rear valance as found on the Turbo model. Quoted performance figures included a 0β97 km/h acceleration time of 6.0 seconds (0β100 km/h being achieved in 6.8 seconds) and a top speed of {{convert|240|km/h|mph|0|abbr=on}} for the cars with a manual transmission. A Club Sport touring package (M637) was also available. Dual air bags (left hand drive models), limited-slip differential and ABS were optional.
