The racial makeup of the county was 98.7% [[White American|White]], 0.3% [[African American|Black or African American]], 0.3% [[Native Americans in the United States|Native American]], ~ 0% [[Asian American|Asian]], 0% [[Pacific Islander American|Pacific Islander]], and 0.8% of the population were [[Hispanic and Latino Americans|Hispanics or Latinos]] of any race. There were 1,894 households, out of which 32.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 54.8% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 12.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 26.7% were non-families. 24.5% of all households were made up of individuals, and 10.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
