There were 19,416 housing units at an average density of {{convert|2,354.6|/mi2|/km2|disp=preunit|units |units|}}. The racial makeup of the city was 46.82% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 0.90% [[African-American (U.S. Census)|African-American]], 1.23% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], 11.64% [[Asian (U.S. Census)|Asian]], 0.08% [[Pacific Islander (U.S. Census)|Pacific Islander]], 33.85% from [[Race (United States census)|other races]], and 5.48% from two or more races. The average household size was 3.28 and the average family size was 3.67. The 2000 census data counted persons as 28.6% under the age of 18, 10.4% from 18 to 24, 30.3% from 25 to 44, 18.2% from 45 to 64, and 12.4% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 34.32 years. For every 100 females, there were 92.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 88.3 males. The median [[income]] for a household in the city was $38,805, and the median income for a family was $41,257. Males had a median income of $30,423 versus $26,590 for females. The [[per capita income]] for the city was $15,125. 16.3% of residents have a bachelor's degree or higher and 69% of residents have a high school degree.
