Marple generally leans to the right on the political spectrum. In the 2008 general elections, the township voted Republican for every office except for the [[General Assembly of Pennsylvania|General Assembly]] representative from the [[Pennsylvania House of Representatives, District 166|166th district]].

Along with [[Aston Township, Pennsylvania|Aston]], [[Bethel Township, Delaware County, Pennsylvania|Bethel]], [[Chadds Ford Township, Delaware County, Pennsylvania|Chadds Ford]], [[Concord Township, Delaware County, Pennsylvania|Concord]], [[Edgmont Township, Delaware County, Pennsylvania|Edgmont]], [[Middletown Township, Delaware County, Pennsylvania|Middletown]], [[Newtown Township, Delaware County, Pennsylvania|Newtown]], [[Springfield Township, Delaware County, Pennsylvania|Springfield]], and [[Tinicum Township, Delaware County, Pennsylvania|Tinicum]], Marple was one of the ten Delaware County municipalities to vote Republican in the [[2008 United States presidential election|2008 presidential election]].
