The numbers of several [[London Buses]] routes are prefixed ''D'' for Docklands; all run on the north bank of the River Thames as part of the London bus network, and act as feeder buses to the DLR. The ''D'' network was developed in the early stages of Docklands redevelopment; it was originally much larger, but as transport rapidly improved across east London, the need for the ''D'' routes reduced. Today only four remain, running primarily in [[London Borough of Tower Hamlets|Tower Hamlets]] and briefly into [[London Borough of Newham|Newham]] and [[London Borough of Hackney|Hackney]].
