==Climate== The Lake Arrowhead Community has a unique climate for Southern California with four distinct seasons which support an array of outdoor recreational activity and year-round beauty. Lake Arrowhead has a Warm-summer [[Mediterranean climate]] ([[KΓΆppen climate classification]] ''Csb''). During the summer, warm temperatures and monsoon thunderstorms are common. During the winter months, large pacific storms bring plenty of snow. The area receives about 300 annual days of sunshine per year. Beginning in late 2011, a catastrophic drought began affecting Lake Arrowhead along with the rest of California. By November 2016, the lake level dropped {{convert|11.975|ft|m}}. This drop exposed much of the lake floor and beached most of the docks.<ref>{{Cite web |title=Arrowhead Lake Association |url=http://www2.ala-ca.org/mapper/lake.level |url-status=dead |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20200220144920/http://www2.ala-ca.org/mapper/lake.level |archive-date=20 February 2020 |website=ala-ca.org}}</ref> As of February 2019, the lake has rebounded to just {{convert|2|ft|m}} below the historical average. {{Weather box |location = Lake Arrowhead, California, 1991β2020 normals, extremes 1941β2010 |single line = Yes |Jan record high F = 71 |Feb record high F = 72 |Mar record high F = 77 |Apr record high F = 87 |May record high F = 93 |Jun record high F = 104 |Jul record high F = 101 |Aug record high F = 99 |Sep record high F = 98 |Oct record high F = 89 |Nov record high F = 78 |Dec record high F = 72 |Jan high F = 44.4 |Feb high F = 44.9 |Mar high F = 52.0 |Apr high F = 60.0 |May high F = 67.0 |Jun high F = 76.4 |Jul high F = 81.1 |Aug high F = 81.8 |Sep high F = 74.2 |Oct high F = 63.0 |Nov high F = 51.5 |Dec high F = 43.0 |year high F = |Jan mean F = 36.5 |Feb mean F = 37.4 |Mar mean F = 41.8 |Apr mean F = 48.0 |May mean F = 53.9 |Jun mean F = 62.8 |Jul mean F = 69.1 |Aug mean F = 69.4 |Sep mean F = 63.0 |Oct mean F = 52.9 |Nov mean F = 42.7 |Dec mean F = 36.0 |year mean F = |Jan low F = 28.7 |Feb low F = 29.8 |Mar low F = 31.6 |Apr low F = 36.1 |May low F = 40.8 |Jun low F = 49.1 |Jul low F = 57.1 |Aug low F = 57.1 |Sep low F = 51.9 |Oct low F = 42.8 |Nov low F = 33.8 |Dec low F = 29.1 |year low F = |Jan record low F = 6 |Feb record low F = 5 |Mar record low F = 11 |Apr record low F = 15 |May record low F = 25 |Jun record low F = 30 |Jul record low F = 40 |Aug record low F = 33 |Sep record low F = 30 |Oct record low F = 18 |Nov record low F = 13 |Dec record low F = 6 |precipitation colour = green |Jan precipitation inch = 8.36 |Feb precipitation inch = 9.87 |Mar precipitation inch = 5.17 |Apr precipitation inch = 2.76 |May precipitation inch = 1.15 |Jun precipitation inch = 0.26 |Jul precipitation inch = 0.12 |Aug precipitation inch = 0.13 |Sep precipitation inch = 0.31 |Oct precipitation inch = 2.06 |Nov precipitation inch = 2.37 |Dec precipitation inch = 5.17 |year precipitation inch = |unit precipitation days = 0.01 in |Jan precipitation days = 6.3 |Feb precipitation days = 6.9 |Mar precipitation days = 5.3 |Apr precipitation days = 3.3 |May precipitation days = 1.7 |Jun precipitation days = 0.6 |Jul precipitation days = 0.7 |Aug precipitation days = 0.5 |Sep precipitation days = 0.8 |Oct precipitation days = 2.0 |Nov precipitation days = 2.5 |Dec precipitation days = 4.1 |Jan snow inch = 3.0 |Feb snow inch = 5.3 |Mar snow inch = 6.7 |Apr snow inch = 2.8 |May snow inch = 0.8 |Jun snow inch = 0.0 |Jul snow inch = 0.0 |Aug snow inch = 0.0 |Sep snow inch = 0.0 |Oct snow inch = 0.0 |Nov snow inch = 0.3 |Dec snow inch = 3.5 |year snow inch = |unit snow days = 0.1 in |Jan snow days = 1.2 |Feb snow days = 1.2 |Mar snow days = 1.0 |Apr snow days = 0.7 |May snow days = 0.1 |Jun snow days = 0.0 |Jul snow days = 0.0 |Aug snow days = 0.0 |Sep snow days = 0.0 |Oct snow days = 0.0 |Nov snow days = 0.1 |Dec snow days = 0.6 |source 1 = NOAA<ref name = NOAA> {{cite web |url = https://www.ncei.noaa.gov/access/services/data/v1?dataset=normals-monthly-1991-2020&stations=USC00044671&format=pdf&dataTypes=MLY-TMAX-NORMAL,MLY-TMIN-NORMAL,MLY-TAVG-NORMAL,MLY-PRCP-NORMAL,MLY-SNOW-NORMAL |publisher = National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration |title = U.S. Climate Normals Quick Access β Station: Lake Arrowhead, CA |access-date = February 26, 2023 }} </ref> |source 2 = XMACIS2<ref name = XMACIS2> {{cite web |url = https://xmacis.rcc-acis.org/ |publisher = National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration |title = xmACIS2 |access-date = February 26, 2023 }} </ref> }} ===Inclement weather=== Heavy snow and winds have caused major power outages in the area.
