An unidentified fifth Hobgoblin was introduced in the series ''[[Secret War (comics)|Secret War]]''. With very little to know about him (including his true identity), the only thing to know is that he received his equipment from the [[Tinkerer]]. He was sent along with [[Lady Octopus]] to attack [[Captain America]] in his civilian identity by the terrorist-elements wound into the events of the Secret War. Chatter from the Goblin indicated he'd been in contact with other members of Spider-Man's rogues gallery, who'd warned him about Spider-Man's constant and inane joking.<ref>''Secret War'' #4.
