On January 16, 2002, Dean Anthony Sutin, Professor Thomas Blackwell and 1L student Angela Dales were shot and killed on the campus of the [[Appalachian School of Law]] by student Peter Odighizuwa, 43, of [[Nigeria]]. Odighizuwa was found to be mentally competent at his trial.
