Granville was known for its successful baseball program, as the Spartans have won state championships in 1971, 1974, 1975, 1976, 1989, 2000 and 2001. They have also qualified for the state tournament multiple times since that last championship. Their rival is [[St. Mary's High School (Remsen, Iowa)|Remsen St. Mary's]], a school located 15 miles southwest.
