Friday Harbor's primary connection to the mainland is via the [[Anacortes–San Juan Islands ferry|San Juan Islands ferry]] operated by [[Washington State Ferries]], which sail between the town and [[Anacortes, Washington|Anacortes]] several times per day. An international extension of the route to [[Sidney, British Columbia]], ran seasonally from May to October until it was discontinued in March 2020 due to the [[COVID-19 pandemic]] and shutdown of cross-border traffic. On San Juan Island, there are taxis, seasonal shuttles, bicycles, and mopeds for rent. The [[Friday Harbor Airport]] features limited airline service.
