== Death and burial == After her death in 1052, Emma was interred alongside Cnut and Harthacnut in the Old Minster, Winchester, before being transferred to the new cathedral built after the Norman Conquest.Lawson During the English Civil War (1642β1651), their remains were disinterred and scattered about the Cathedral floor by parliamentary forces.
