On August 6, 2007, at 2:48 A.M., [[UtahAmerican Energy]]'s [[Crandall Canyon Mine]], {{convert|15|mi|abbr=off|sp=us}} west north-west of [[Huntington, Utah|Huntington]] collapsed, trapping 6 workers inside. The mine, located just off [[Utah State Route 31|State Route 31]], is about {{convert|34|mi|km}} southeast of [[Fairview, Utah|Fairview]], and {{convert|140|mi|abbr=on}} south of [[Salt Lake City, Utah|Salt Lake City]] ({{convert|100|mi|-1|disp=or|abbr=on}}). The workers were approximately {{convert|3.4|mi|abbr=on}} from the mine entrance and {{convert|1500|ft|abbr=on}} underground. The collapse registered recorded [[seismic waves]] in magnitude 3.9 to 4.0, by [[seismograph]] stations of the [[University of Utah]].
