Across the street, Ajinomoto North America, inc. has a plant that turns the glucose into mono-sodium glutamate. [[Wacker Chemie AG|Wacker Chemie]] also runs a plant across the fence of Cargill. Chamness Technology operates a composting facility outside of town that recycles various organic wastes into compost.
