2020 was the 700th anniversary of the Declaration of Arbroath's composition; an ''Arbroath 2020'' festival was arranged but postponed due to the [[COVID-19 pandemic]]. The [[National Museum of Scotland]] in Edinburgh planned to display the document to the public for the first time in fifteen years.<ref name=":2" />
