==Attractions== [[Manatee Springs State Park]] is located {{convert|6|mi|0}} west of town; the crystal-clear water is a "first-magnitude" [[Spring (hydrology)|spring]] that flows directly into the [[Suwannee River]]. The park offers a full slate of activities, including camping. [[Manatee]]s can be seen in the spring year-round, but especially in late fall and winter, where the constant {{convert|72|F}} temperature of the spring is much warmer than river water. The Annual Watermelon Festival is the largest event of the year and dates back to 1954. The museum is open throughout the year and the collection contains unique items like a quilt made from the ties of two former Presidents, [[Jimmy Carter]] and [[Gerald Ford]].
