The battle plan designed on the fast strike model was due to open at 17:00 on 25 January and to finish three nights and two days later. After much debate, due to the French knowledge of the battle plan and along with other complications, the assault was canceled on 26 January, and Giáp went away and designed a new plan with a new start time.
