Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport has two runways and is capable of operating the [[Airbus A380]], currently the largest passenger aircraft in operation. Chengdu is the fourth city in China with two commercial-use runways, after Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou. On 26 May 2009, [[Air China]], Chengdu City Government and Sichuan Airport Group signed an agreement to improve the infrastructure of the airport and increase the number of direct international flights to and from Chengdu. Since 2023, all the international flights are transferred to Tianfu International Airport.
