Since 1996, the [[Angoulême International Comics Festival René Goscinny award|René Goscinny Award]] is presented at the yearly [[Angoulême International Comics Festival]] in France as an encouragement for young comic writers.

On 23 January 2020, a life-sized bronze statue of Goscinny was unveiled near his former home in Paris.
