===Chapel Quad=== A Chapel was built in 1732, followed by the introduction of further accommodation in 1846 and the Hall in 1848 to designs by Exeter-based architect [[John Hayward (architect)|John Hayward]],<ref>Oxford: an architectural guide, Geoffrey Tyack. {{ISBN|0-19-817423-3}}, {{ISBN|978-0-19-817423-3}}</ref> together creating "Chapel Quad".<ref name="Buildings">{{cite web| url=http://www.pmb.ox.ac.uk/College/Buildings/index.php| title=Buildings – Pembroke College, University of Oxford| access-date=10 November 2007| url-status=dead| archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20080501040437/http://www.pmb.ox.ac.uk/College/Buildings/index.php| archive-date=1 May 2008}}</ref> The Chapel was designed and built by William Townsend, although the interior was dramatically revamped by [[Charles Kempe]]—a Pembroke graduate—in 1884. Pembroke alumnus Dr. Damon Wells was a significant benefactor of the college over many years: he funded the restoration of the Chapel in 1972 and again in the 1990s and provided ongoing support to the Chaplaincy and History Fellowship.<ref>{{cite web|title=Dr Damon Wells Hon CBE, Honorary Fellow – Pembroke College, University of Oxford| url=https://www.pmb.ox.ac.uk/news/dr-damon-wells-hon-cbe-honorary-fellow|date=18 October 2021}}</ref> The Chapel, which is still used for regular worship, now bears his name.<ref>{{cite web| url=http://www.pmb.ox.ac.uk/College/The_Chapel/Chapel_History.php| title=Chapel History – Pembroke College, University of Oxford| access-date=10 November 2007| url-status=dead| archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20080515054641/http://www.pmb.ox.ac.uk/College/The_Chapel/Chapel_History.php| archive-date=15 May 2008}}</ref>
