===Later years=== After living with her for many years, Leigh Fermor was married in 1968 to the Honourable [[Joan Leigh Fermor|Joan Elizabeth Rayner]] (nΓ©e Eyres Monsell), daughter of [[Bolton Eyres-Monsell, 1st Viscount Monsell]]. She accompanied him on many travels until her death in [[Kardamili|Kardamyli]] in June 2003, aged 91.
