===In India=== Muralitharan was contracted to represent [[Bengal cricket team|Bengal]] in the 2008β09 [[Ranji Trophy]] tournament. He was expected to play about four matches in the tournament's second division β the Plate League. In February 2008, Muralitharan was slated to play [[Twenty20]] cricket for the [[Chennai Super Kings]] in the [[Indian Premier League]] (IPL). In 2015, Muralitharan was appointed as the bowling coach and mentor of the IPL team [[Sunrisers Hyderabad]].
