The greater Meteora rock formation also extends northwest into the [[Gavros, Trikala|Gavros]] and [[Agios Dimitrios, Trikala|Agios Dimitrios]] areas, although the term ''Meteora'' is commonly used to refer to only the rocks around [[Kalabaka]] and [[Kastraki, Trikala|Kastraki]].
