===2010 census===
As of the [[2010 United States census|2010 census]], there were 1,393 people, 529 households, and 365 families residing in the city. The [[population density]] was {{convert|491.8|PD/sqmi|PD/km2|1}}. There were 593 housing units. The racial makeup of the city was 81.3% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 10.3% [[African American (U.S. Census)|African American]], 0.5% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], 0.8% [[Asian (U.S. Census)|Asian]], 0.0% [[Race (U.S. Census)|Pacific Islander]], 5.7% from [[Race and ethnicity in the United States census|some other races]] and 1.3% from [[Multiracial Americans|two or more races]]. [[Hispanic and Latino Americans|Hispanic or Latino]] of any race were 11.7% of the population.

There were 529 households, out of which 49.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 44.9% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 18.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 31.0% were non-families. 25.7% of all households were made up of individuals. The average household size was 2.63 and the average family size was 3.16.

In the city, the population was spread out, with 29.7% under the age of 19, 5.9% from 20 to 24, 24.6% from 25 to 44, 26.3% from 45 to 64, and 13.6% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 37.8 years. For every 100 females, there were 91.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 86.3 males.
