There are only some kudzu populations in certain regions of Italy and Switzerland. In Switzerland it occurs almost exclusively in [[Ticino]], where it has been found in the wild since at least 1956.<ref>{{cite web |title=Pueraria lobata (Willd.) However, outbreaks in peripheral areas such as the Onsernone Valley and Lower Leventina are likely due to the illegal disposal of plant waste.
