Gecko is primarily used in [[web browser]]s, the earliest being [[Netscape 6]] and [[Mozilla Application Suite|Mozilla Suite]] (later renamed [[SeaMonkey]]). It is also used in other Mozilla web browser derivatives such as [[Mozilla Firefox|Firefox]] and [[Firefox for mobile]] and the implementation of the [[Internet Explorer]]-clone that is part of [[Wine (software)|Wine]].<ref name="IE Wine Gecko">{{cite web |url = http://wiki.winehq.org/Gecko |title = IE Uses Gecko Under Wine |publisher = Wine Wiki |access-date = 2009-09-14 }}</ref> Mozilla also uses it in their [[Mozilla Thunderbird|Thunderbird email-client]].
