==History== A courthouse square was planned in the area that would become Firth sometime before 1860.<ref name=":0">{{cite web|url=http://www.firth.nebraska.gov/about/|title=Village of Firth : About Firth : History|website=www.firth.nebraska.gov|language=en-us|access-date=March 25, 2018}}</ref> However, due to Firth's remote location, residents would have had to travel to Nebraska City for supplies, meaning that the area remained largely uninhabited by non-Natives for many years.<ref name=":0" /> Firth was settled in the early 1870s, as the Atchison & Nebraska Railroad was extended toward [[Lincoln, Nebraska|Lincoln]]. The post office was established in 1872, named for Superintendent Frank Firth of the Atchison & Nebraska Railroad, and was incorporated in 1879.<ref>[https://web.archive.org/web/20021114114458/http://www.kancoll.org/books/andreas_ne/lancaster/lancaster-p29.html "Lancaster County, Part 29: Firth."] ''[https://web.archive.org/web/20021029043208/http://www.kancoll.org/books/andreas_ne/hon_tabl.html Andreas's History of the State of Nebraska.]'' Retrieved November 29, 2012.</ref><ref>[http://www.casde.unl.edu/history/counties/lancaster/firth/ "Firth--Lancaster County".] [http://www.casde.unl.edu/history/index.php Nebraska...
