Chemical industries, [[oil refining]], paper and cotton textile products also are a feature of the prefecture. Rural areas mostly engage in [[agricultural]] and [[fishing]] industries, and are particularly known for citrus fruits such as ''mikan'' ([[mandarin orange]]), [[iyokan]] and [[cultured pearl]]s.
