In August 2020, BU filed a [[service mark]] application with the [[United States Patent and Trademark Office]] to secure the phrase "F*ck It Won't Cut It" for a student-led COVID-19 safety program on campus. In July 2021, BU announced faculty and staff will be required to be vaccinated against COVID-19 for the fall 2022 semester.
