His chief work, the ''Pyrrhonian Discourses'' ({{langx|grc|Πυρρώνειοι λóγοι|''Pyrrhoneioi logoi''}}) dealt primarily with man's need to suspend judgment due to our [[epistemology|epistemological]] limitations. Although it has not survived, we have a summary of its contents from [[Photios I of Constantinople|Photius]] (in his ''[[Bibliotheca (Photius)|Myriobiblion]]'').{{sfn|Long|Sedley|1987|pp=468-470}} The work, which was divided into eight books, detailed Pyrrhonist philosophy, described the differences between the Pyrrhonists and the [[Academic skepticism|Academic Skeptics]], and set out ten "tropes", or "modes" for producing suspension of judgment.<ref name="EB1911" />
