===2000 census===
As of the census of 2000, there were 147 people, 59 households, and 38 families residing in the city. The population density was {{convert|597.0|PD/sqmi|PD/km2|sp=us|adj=off}}. There were 66 housing units at an average density of {{convert|268.0|/sqmi|/km2|sp=us|adj=off}}. The racial makeup of the city was 85.03% White, 0.68% Native American, 10.88% from other races, and 3.40% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 14.97% of the population.<ref name="wwwcensusgov"/>

There were 59 households, out of which 25.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 52.5% were married couples living together, 11.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 33.9% were non-families. 30.5% of all households were made up of individuals, and 13.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.49 and the average family size was 3.21.<ref name="wwwcensusgov"/>

In the city, the population was spread out, with 25.9% under the age of 18, 9.5% from 18 to 24, 22.4% from 25 to 44, 21.8% from 45 to 64, and 20.4% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 38 years. For every 100 females, there were 72.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 84.7 males.<ref name="wwwcensusgov"/>

The median income for a household in the city was $30,000, and the median income for a family was $38,438. Males had a median income of $31,250 versus $26,667 for females. There were 17.8% of families and 8.0% of the population living below the [[poverty line]], including 3.1% of under eighteens and 22.5% of those over 64.<ref name="wwwcensusgov"/>
