On July 23, 1982, actor [[Vic Morrow]] and two child actors (My-Ca Dinh Le and Renee Shin-Ye Chen) were filming a helicopter scene for ''[[Twilight Zone: The Movie]]'' in the area of Indian Dunes in Ventura County when the helicopter lost control and crashed on top of them. Morrow and Le were decapitated and Chen was fatally crushed.

In 1963, the [[Korean War]] story ''[[The Young and the Brave]]'', featuring a brave and resourceful young boy, was filmed in rural areas of Ventura County. Also, in 2000, the movie ''[[Swordfish (film)|Swordfish]]'' filmed the final bank scene on East Main Street in Ventura.
