Nearly one in five Australians, or 4.4 million people, were estimated by [[Australian Bureau of Statistics|the Australian Bureau of Statistics]] to have a disability. A mental or behavioral issue was reported in over 25% of Australians with disabilities. Male prevalence was 17.6 million, while female prevalence was somewhat higher at 17.8 million between the sexes.
