The Royal Canadian Mounted Police were accorded the status of a regiment of dragoons in 1921. The RCMP also carries the honorary distinctions for the [[Canadian Provost Corps]] (Military Police), presented September 21, 1957, at a [[Parliament Hill]] ceremony for contributions to the corps during the Second World War.
