The [[BBC]] has its [[BBC East Midlands|East Midlands]] headquarters in Nottingham on London Road. ''[[BBC East Midlands Today]]'' is broadcast from the city every weeknight at 6:30&nbsp;pm.

From 1983 to 2005 [[ITV Central|Central Television]] (the [[ITV (TV network)|ITV]] region for the east Midlands) had a studio complex on Lenton Lane, producing programmes for various networks and broadcasting regional news. The studios are now a satellite campus of the University of Nottingham, since 2005.

The city was granted permission by Ofcom to establish its own local television station. After a tender process, Confetti College was awarded the licence.
