Long Beach, California has two public institutions dedicated to [[higher education]]: [[California State University, Long Beach]] and [[Long Beach City College]].

Founded in 1949, [[California State University, Long Beach]] is a comprehensive [[public university]] in the tree-filled [[Los Altos, Long Beach, California|Los Altos]] neighborhood.
