[[Li Bai]] and [[Du Fu]] opened the forking ways for the poetic circles through romanticism and realism respectively. In the wake of the [[New Culture Movement]] after the end of the Qing dynasty, Chinese literature embarked on a new era with [[written vernacular Chinese]] for ordinary citizens.
